We call this parent / child relationships.  The parent being the legal entity where the liability is held, and the child being the trading entities used primarily for delivery and billing instructions.  For example a company could have multiple trading entities at different addresses that they need product delivered too.  When you customer completes their trade application they will be given the option of adding multiple trading entities into the one application.
